Day 190: Bamboo forest

Slept nicely under a mountain of blankets but still got a cold when I woke up in the morning :( After an enormous pancake breakfast, Bla and I went on today's 3-hour trek shortly before 10 am - at first only the two of us. It felt a little clearer but it was still pretty cloudy - but the path we took today luckily was not as muddy as I feared. For a change part of the track was through a bamboo forest, very cool! After we left the forest we then crossed paths with Steffi, Roman and Marloes again - and two Swiss girls as a new addition - and then continued all together to a waterfall and then to Giang Ta Chai where we had lunch. It took forever until we were served and we were all freezing while waiting - therefore once my noodle soup arrived I thought it was the best I ever had ;)

After lunch we took a minibus back to Sapa where we had a shower and then Marloes and I walked through town for a bit, ending the stroll with a nice beer. And funnily enough, at the Sapa Sisters' office I ran into Sam and Dani again who had also just returned from their trek. We all got on the transfer back to Lao Cai, where we first walked around a bit (not much to see or do...), had dinner and then took the night train back to Hanoi.
